The Educomics Project is always looking for teachers and educational researchers to help us prove that a web comic book is an effective instructional medium as well as create a pool of lesson plans for the teachers’ community. Every teacher or researcher that helps in this project and reports back to us with the findings from the use of ComicLab & Educomics approach in classroom as well as with lesson plans, will receive a Certificate of Participation (check a sample).
1. Try out the ComicLab web comic creation tool in your school and report us your experiences
We would like to invite you take join our project by also piloting the digital comic software application I have made available, so that you can also try digital comics. You can download the trial version of the web comic creation tool, called ComicLab, from http://www.webcomicbookcreator.com . We would be very grateful if you could report back to us on your use with your students. There is no need for a specific template for reporting but if you want you can use the template that can be found here.
2. Get more actively in this project. Win a free one year user license of ComicLab for educational purposes and receive a Certificate of Participation
You can get more actively in this project if you are willing to collaborate with us in forming a lesson plan for a case study that you are going to run in your classroom till September 2010. If your lesson plan is approved, you will get a free one year user license of ComicLab for educational purposes. Also, your school will get for free the necessary amount of ComicLab Educomics user licenses for all the computers of a school lab which will be used during the case study. The results of your piloting will be used to increase our knowledge of how digital comics can be used and add to the resources we will make available to teachers.
